How to set the course Training Interval

Modified on Thu, 22 Feb at 8:16 AM

Training interval is the expected number of months between completing a course and repeating the same course again. This is useful for courses which have to be repeated regularly to remain compliant, for example, Fire Awareness courses. It can also be used for courses you want to repeat regularly to keep learner’s skills fresh and knowledge up-to-date.

This is a global and an individual course setting. Individual course settings take precedence over global course settings.

The Training interval value is used to calculate the Expiry date for a learner’s completed course.

To set the global Training interval:

  1. Click the Settings tab on the menu bar at the top of the page.
  2. In the GENERAL card click Global settings.
  3. Scroll down to the TRAINING card.
  4. Find Training interval and type in your value.
  5. Scroll down and click Save changes.

To set the Training interval for an  individual course:

  1. Click the Settings tab on the menu bar at the top of the page.
  2. In the COURSES card click Course settings.
  3. In the list of courses click the course title you want to change.
  4. Scroll down to the GENERAL card.
  5. Find Training interval and click the arrow to show the list.
  6. Select your value.
  7. Scroll down and click Save changes.

If you have set a value for Training interval, you may want to change the New sessions setting. The New sessions setting locks/unlocks a training course during a Training interval period. For more information see How to lock/unlock new sessions during a training interval.

Note: Learners can 'review' course content for up to 7 days after completing it without having to start a new training session.
